The Healthy Hips Series

This series will take you into your hips with a combination of slow fluid movement and holding poses. The benefits are to increase flexibility – of the muscles, tendons and fascia in and around the hip joint. You might also experience a release of stored up emotions as our hips are involved in a lot of fight or flight responses. All levels of practitioners welcome.
Meditation, breath work and music are included in each class.
Each class will be 60-75 minutes
What to bring: a yoga mat, blocks, bolsters, pillows, and straps. If you have none of these things, do not worry, we will make do! You might also bring a journal to your mat so you can jot down any techniques and/or practices that really work for you as we go along.

‘Hip opening’ is a term you’ve probably heard a lot in yoga. But ‘hip opening’ is confusing; it implies that our hips open like a door or book.
In fact, hips are ball and socket joints, which means they are able to do circumduction i.e. move in a circle. So ‘opening our hips’ actually means creating mobility in all directions.
